Kazan International Airport
Kazan is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, and an important industrial, trade and cultural centre with a population over 1 million people. Kazan lies at the confluence of the Volga and Kazanka Rivers in European Russia.
The architectural part of the project “Reconstruction and development of International Airport Kazan – T erminal 1A” was developed on the basis of:
- Master plan for the development of the airport in Kazan;
- Project assignment;
- The regulations going on the territory of Russian Federation in accordance with the International standards (IATA Airoport Development Reference Manual 9th Edition,
ICAO).
Purpose:
- Construction of the new Terminal 1A, with traffic capacity 600 passengers per hour, reaching levels of comfort “C” IATA and securing the international requirements for organization of the 100% automatic tri-state control, and a review of the baggage of the departing and transit passengers;
- An increase of income from non-aviation activity. Commercial areas in the new terminal 1A should represent around 15% of the total area of the terminal, without taking the
cilculation areas (hallways, passageways, stairways) and technical premises;
- Project of terminal landside area including the construction of a car park for 400 cars and indoor parking for 227 cars, with the maximum use of the terrain.

- Terminal 1A;
- Indoor parking lot;
- Technological buildings:
a) transformer station with diesel generator
b) steam station
c) chiller station
